Black to Basics: The Beginner Boudoir Workshop
You don't just want to take photos. You want to create experiences that change how women see themselves. This workshop was built for exactly that.
Black to Basics is a 4-hour, hands-on beginner boudoir workshop designed to give aspiring boudoir photographers the foundation they need to enter the industry with confidence, clarity, and purpose. From 10AM to 2pm, you'll learn not just the technical side of boudoir — but the heart of it. We'll break for lunch midway so you can rest, connect, and come back ready for the second half.
What You'll Learn:
- How to define your why and build your business around it
- How to prep clients and craft a seamless, memorable experience
- How to set boundaries that protect both you and your clients
- Poses that sell and how to direct natural, emotive movement
- How to participate in a live shoot with real models
- Anything else on your mind — pricing, editing, client experience — in an open Q&A
Your Instructors
Brianne Daul | Satin Dauls Boudoir Brianne Daul is a luxury boudoir photographer and owner of Satin Dauls Boudoir in Boonton, NJ. With nearly a decade behind the camera, she is known for creating empowering, confidence-shifting experiences that celebrate women of all backgrounds, body types, and skin tones. As a Black creative and educator, Brianne is deeply passionate about diversity in the boudoir industry and teaching photographers how to build inclusive, technically strong portfolios. Her work blends skill with emotional storytelling — and she brings that same energy into every room she teaches in.
Ria Rouse | Boudoir By Ria Ria Rouse is a visual storyteller who centers sensuality, vulnerability, and emotional truth in every frame. Rooted in a background in psychology and shaped by a lifetime of unlearning shame, Ria approaches boudoir photography as both mirror and liberation tool — inviting women, femmes, mascs, and those often left out of traditional beauty narratives to see themselves as art. When Ria walks you through a session, you're not just learning technique — you're learning how to hold space.
